Project Overview

The Westin Manila Hotel, located in the heart of Manila's commercial district, is a high-end five-star hotel managed by Marriott International. As a landmark building, the hotel boasts over 30,000 square meters of floor space, featuring upscale guest rooms, a conference center, restaurants, a spa, and a large banquet hall. Such a complex and load-bearing structure placed extremely high demands on the safety, stability, and energy efficiency of the electrical system.

At the project's outset, the hotel owner and general contractor outlined the following key requirements for cable supply:

• Conductors must conform to international standard dimensions to ensure electrical conductivity and safety margins.
• Insulation materials must be heat-resistant, moisture-resistant, and corrosion-resistant, adapting to the high-temperature and high-humidity environment of the Philippines.
• The supplier must have experience with similar large-scale commercial buildings or hotel projects and be able to provide comprehensive technical support.
• Wires and cables must be UL certified or meet equivalent international standards to ensure long-term stable operation in this high-end project.

Our company, leveraging its extensive experience in overseas hotel projects and a comprehensive wire and cable certification system, ultimately became the primary supplier of THHN cables for The Westin Manila project.

Project Requirements Analysis

In our initial communication with the client, we identified two key pain points.

First, as a renowned five-star hotel located in the heart of Metro Manila, the Westin Manila has extremely high requirements for the stability and efficiency of its power system. The client emphasized that a failure in any component of the power supply network could lead to operational disruptions, particularly affecting guest rooms, meeting facilities, and large banquets. Therefore, they required all cables to not only meet UL and IEC international standards but also demonstrate reliability under long-term high-load operation in a tropical environment.

Second, the client faced a cost-effectiveness challenge. For high-end hotel projects, especially international chains like Marriott, the overall investment in the Mechanical and Electrical Equipment (MEP) system is substantial. Local contractors sought a cost-effective cable supplier that could provide high-quality products at reasonable prices, thereby reducing total construction costs without compromising the quality and safety of the power system.

Addressing these two main concerns, Manager Vivian and the technical support team elaborated on our strengths. Our company possesses extensive project experience in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines, encompassing large commercial complexes, airport terminals, and hotel projects. We have established long-term partnerships with numerous engineering firms and are familiar with the standards and specifications typically required for such projects.

Our THHN cables are UL83 certified, and all production is completed in our own ISO-certified factory. This allows us to maintain stringent quality control while offering a reasonable and stable pricing system—more competitive than imported brands with equivalent performance.

After multiple rounds of technical discussions and document review meetings, our engineering team worked closely with the client's consultants and electrical engineers to finalize the supply of 2.0mm² THHN cable / 80mm² THHN cable / 200mm² THHN cable / 250mm² THHN cable.
