Advantages of medium voltage cable
Single core medium voltage cables are constructed with a stranded compacted circular copper conductor in accordance with AS/NZS 1125. The conductor is covered with an extruded semiconducting conductor screen, followed by an XLPE insulation layer, providing excellent electrical insulation and heat resistance. A strippable extruded semiconducting insulation screen provides reliable stress control and convenient termination. Optional longitudinal water-blocking tapes are applied above and below the copper screen to prevent moisture ingress.
