Airfield Cable for Airports
GERITEL
Nov 07,2025
Airport cables are specialized cables designed for the complex and demanding operating environment of airports, used to transmit power and signals under conditions of high security and reliability. These cables possess excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, cold resistance, UV resistance, water resistance, oil resistance, flame retardancy, and corrosion resistance, and also exhibit high mechanical strength and abrasion resistance. Their sheaths are mostly made of low-smoke halogen-free (LSZH) or flame-retardant PVC materials, suitable for various installation environments, including underground burial, conduit laying, outdoor exposure, and long-term continuous operation. Airfield Cable's main applications are as follows:
1. Airport cables are used in runway and taxiway lighting systems: These use dedicated series circuit cables to connect transformers and lighting fixtures. They are typically single-core, high-voltage (5kV–15kV), weather-resistant rubber-insulated cables.
2. Airport cables are used in apron and boarding bridge power systems: These are dedicated cables that provide power to aircraft on the ground. They require resistance to bending, abrasion, oil, and UV radiation. They are often flexible, movable cables, such as those with special low-loss structures compliant with 400 Hz frequencies.
3. Communication and control systems: These include signal, data transmission, security monitoring, and lighting control.
4. Airfield cables are used in terminal and airport building power distribution systems: These use LSZH cables, fire resistant cables, and fire resistant control cables, safe power supply, and evacuation during fires.

Airport cables are specifically designed to adapt to the unique operating environment and safety regulations of airports, featuring high reliability, weather resistance, and fire resistance. Whether it's runway light cables, 400 Hz apron power lines, or terminal fire control cables, they all fall under the category of airport cables.
